Born in Austria, grown up in Brazil, Ala finished her studies at Central Saint Martins- College of Art and Design, London, and at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London. After having worked for galleries like Hauser & Wirth, Galeria Luisa Strina, Max Hetzler and neugerriemschneider, Ala decided to work independently as a consultant, curator and project maker. Project selection: La Rinascente, Milan with Olafur Eliasson. Museum K21, Düsseldorf with Tomás Saraceno. Artist selection: Studio Ai Weiwei, Norbert Bisky. Ala also co-founded StudioVisits  (private studio visits featuring in-depth dialogues with artists about their work, including Julian Rosefeldt, Eli Cortinas, Kathrin Sonntag, Paula Doepfner) and Kursalon (curated salon evenings at various private locations featuring artists such as Friedrich Liechtenstein, Diana Sirianni, Malte Beckenbach).

Curated exhibitions include Einheit01: an exhibition series featuring works of e.g. Svenja Deininger, Xavier Mazzarol, Sheila Pepe, Nathan Peter, Michael Danner.  She is also associate producer for the series Planet Magnon.
