Georgia Holz ist Kunsthistorikerin und als freie Kuratorin, Autorin, Redakteurin und Lektorin in Wien tätig. Von 2006–15 war sie Assistenz-Kuratorin in der Generali Foundation Wien und von 2003–05 kuratorische Assistentin an der Kunsthalle Wien. Zuletzt kuratierte sie u.a.: Verbinden / Vertreten / Verteilen / Vermitteln / Verhandeln. 70 Jahre Tiroler Künstler*schaft (Innsbruck 2016), Speech Acts. Vom Sprechen als politischem Handeln (Forum Stadtpark/steirischer herbst, Graz 2015; mumok Kino 2016), Ich bin eine andere Welt. Künstlerische AutorInnenschaft zwischen Desubjektivierung und Rekanonisierung (xhibit, Akademie der Bildenden Künste, Wien 2013) und With a name like yours you might be any shape (Tiroler Künstler*schaft, Innsbruck; University Art Galleries, University of California Irvine, 2012).

Sie ist Mitherausgeberin von: Philipp Fleischmann. Main Hall (2017), Christoph Weber. Uncast (2015), Textiles: Open Letter (mit R. Frank, G. Watson, S. Folie und S. Titz, 2015), A Book about Collecting and Exhibiting Conceptual Art After Conceptual Art (mit S. Folie und I. Lafer, 2013).

Sie interessiert sich für künstlerische Praktiken und kuratorische Gesten, die durch parafiktionale und spekulative Strategien eine Befragung und Dekonstruktion hegemonialer Narrative anstreben. Ein zentraler Anspruch ihrer kuratorischen Praxis ist das Sichtbarmachen von „Ungewusstem und Ungesehenem“ wie feministischer Kunstgeschichte.

Her interest focuses on artistic approaches and curatorial gestures that attempt to question and deconstruct hegemonic narratives with the means of “parafictional” and speculative strategies. Her main curatorial aspiration is making visible the unknown and unseen such as feminist art history.
