Katya Dimova studied Graphic and Printmaking at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and at the Joshibi University for Arts and Design in Tokyo. She is a certified herbal educator and a mother of two. Dimova primarily works with drawing and installation, with a recent focus on textile as a medium. Central to her work is the intricate relationship between humans and nature, particularly exploring parallels between wild plants and society. This reflective perspective is evident in her embroidered textile books on wild plants. Dimova notably examines the themes of "weeds" and "neophytes," invasive species that can suppress or encroach upon native flora. Her work has been exhibited at various venues, including the Künstlerhaus Wien, National Gallery Sofia, and as part of a video performance at the 59th Biennale di Venezia, as well as at the Fiction Museum Okutama in Tokyo and the Art Tower Mito.
Katya Dimova lives and works as a freelance artist and art mediator in Vienna and Lower Austria.
